My story

Looking for a handsome hunk to curl up with you on the couch and keep you warm on those colder winter nights that are just around the corner. Well look no further because Duke is your boy. He is a one -year old German Shepherd/Akita mix who is a gentle and sweet couch warmer.
Duke is an active young dog that loves being outside playing fetch and helping with yard work. He loves to dig and chase the leaves. He is amazing in the car, learning to walk nicely on a leash, has lovely manners, gives big wet sloppy kisses and is just simply a joy to have around. He is completely housebroken!!! He is excited to meet everyone he sees – he is not shy! He loves other dogs but cannot live with cats.
Ideally Duke’s forever home will have a large fenced in yard and a canine buddy to play with. He needs an active lifestyle but a clam household environment.
Duke is a local CT stray that we rescued from animal control. We believe this young dog was confined in a small space with no physical or mental stimulation for most of his short life. Because of this he has developed OCD behavior which the rescue is treating him for.
