Chance came to WTWTA Rescue after we were notified about a stray pitbull dragging a 20 ft chain up and down the country side. Thank fully those good samaritans didn’t just watch the dog suffer they jumped in and start working with this pup to get him to trust them by feeding him. Food is love right!?

They started calling him Chance after the name of the pup in the Homeward Bound movie who had a very similar eye patch. Chance was at first a little untrusting of humans but his fosters have turn things around for him. He does good with other dogs and adults but still nervous with fast moving people. He lives with his foster family who has both kids and other dogs. He likes car rides and knows several commands, sit, down, up and even giving hugs….

Chance had been running around loose for awhile, left to suffer on a chain by his neglectful past owner, he was once a visitor at the Augusta animal shelter after being left out by his prior owner who neglected him. Sadly the owner just tied him back up again. His original owner has since disappeared leaving Chance on a chain to suffer and starve. But his spirit still had some fight left in him and he broke the chain free and ran to find a place where he could be loved.

Chance will need a patient and loving owner who will understand his rough past and go slow with him to ensure he knows he can trust you and you will keep him safe. But once that trust is built, this boy loves hard and he is faithful beyond words.

As big as he is, he is just a sweet lapdog who loves snuggling on top of his person and watching tv and talking about all the cool things he saw outside for the day.
