Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Sweet Luna is simply perfect! She will be a great addition to a loving family.
She has a wonderful family that is heartbroken to have to rehome her. They invested quite a lot of money in her veterinary care and training, but she has little tolerance for their little dachshund. Yet in the right setting and guidance, she has been found to relate well to a new dog. Luna has become friends with a smaller female GSD as we have introduced them slowly and taught her to share space.
Naturally, most dogs will be nervous in new environments until they are socialized and have experience with people. Currently, she is nervous around young, spontaneous children. She needs more socialization with strangers, but given space in a relaxed environment, she will relax with newcomers.
She is so loving, playful, and smart! Her training allows her to stay inside between exercise times and she will ring "jingle bells" if hung on the doorknob to let you know when she needs a bathroom break!
It appears, at least for now, she will be best suited for a family without young children and other pets.
As for all of our GSDs, Good Shepherd GSD Rescue is very particular about whom we permit to adopt one of our "babies." We have an application process that must be completed that includes reference forms to be completed by a veterinarian and non-related neighbors. Those wishing to adopt must be willing to allow home visits and may not have been arrested for assault, battery, or abuse.
We make no apologies for our high standards. It is our responsibility to ensure these wonderful creatures live in a safe, loving environment.
If you would like more information or to apply to adopt one of our GSDs, please contact us.
