My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Finn was turned into the Houston city kill shelter as an owner surrender because his family had no time for him. The shelter sent out a plea for help for him to get out because he was very scared in the shelter and was not showing well for potential adopters. He was added to the daily euthanasia list. He didn't deserve to die because he was scared. We went and picked him up from the shelter and took him into rescue. He has done much better in his foster home. He is housetrained and crate trained. He is absolutely gorgeous.

We did an DNA test on Finn. His results are as follows: 41.6% Doberman Pinscher, 22.9% German Shepherd Dog, 15.6% Siberian Husky, 5.4% Chow Chow, and 14.5% blend of Berger Picard, Dutch Shepherd and Belgian Malinois. He weighs 48 pounds and is about 1 year, 8 months old. He loves to run and loves to play with other dogs. He is friendly with people. He has done ok with cats with supervision. An apartment setting is not going to be an appropriate situation for Finn's energy level and size.

Finn is very athletic and one of his favorite pastimes is riding in the Kawasaki. He will come to his name and he walks on a leash well. Finn currently lives with three inside cats at his foster but left unattended will chase cats if they run. He is buddies with a terrier half his size and loves to run with him on acreage. When Finn's fosters are not at home he is crated. He sleeps on a dog bed in fosters bedroom at night. Finn has limited experience with small children but has been around older children and does well. He is cautious at first when meeting new people.

Finn's adoption fee is $650 (that includes GROUND transport from Houston, TX to the Hartford, CT area). Finn has been fully vaccinated, neutered and microchipped so he is ready to go! Finn is currently located in his foster home in Sheridan, TX and will remain there until adopted.
