My name is Paulie and I am 7 years old. I am a super affectionate and playful boy who loves to please. It’s been a rough couple of years. After being dumped in the street, I was rescued from the shelter in Contra Costa County. I was so scared there that I acted kind of crazy. After I left the Shelter I got this thing called rectal prolapse and had several surgeries to correct it. Then I went to a boarding kennel that burned up during the Mountain Fire, and I almost died. Boy was I lucky. I ended up at the Clearlake Shelter where I was rescued again. Through it all, I never gave up on finding my forever family and lots of wonderful people have been helping me....
I am happy to say I am now in excellent health! I get along great with just about any new dog I meet in a very short time, but slow introductions are always recommended. I am also friendly meeting new people and love anyone willing to give me attention. I have had intensive training and am a wonderful canine citizen. I am eager to please and am food motivated which makes me easy to train if you want to teach me new fun stuff. I’m a dog that loves my humans and I devote myself fully to the person who is willing to be a steady influence in my life. After all I have been through, I remain a very loyal boy who will stick to you like glue and give back a whole lot more than I take. I like to roam around a bit if there’s a nice place to do it, but I come a runnin’ when you call me! If you are someone who wants a companion to hang out with all day, I’m your guy.
