My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Rosebud is a beautiful roan Pinto who came to Longmeadow as an owner surrender. Initially, she was very pushy, herd bound, and opinionated, but over time she has transformed into a new horse. With help from our trainers and groundwork team, she has become more patient, responsive, and respectful with her handlers.

While being evaluated, our trainers noticed that Rosebud showed signs of lameness while under saddle. After multiple vet visits and tests to figure out what was causing her pain, we found that she had a bone fragment in her right hind fetlock. We were given a couple options to improve Rosebud`s comfort, including a joint injection to help her lameness. After the injection (which, to our disdain, did not fix her lameness), the vets told us the next option would be a surgery. Because of this, as well as an old injury to her front right suspensory that our vets and trainer found, we have determined that Rosebud will do best as a pasture pet or leadline horse for a light rider.

Don`t let this sway your opinion of this adorable young mare! Rosebud is full of spunk and personality. She has a kind, fun-loving heart and does well in a herd of other equine. She is friendly, tolerant, and VERY food-motivated. Rosebud loves the companionship of both horse friends and people alike and would be a great buddy to your horse at home!
