Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Hi, my name is Richochet, or Chet (Shay) for short and I a 1 year old. My foster family has two dogs and a two cats. One dog fur-friend is 14 yrs. old and 50 lb. and the other is 8 yrs. old and 15 lb. The small one likes to boss me around, but I don’t mind. The older one thinks I have too much energy. Foster mom says I have good manners, but can get excited and a bit rough sometimes for the bossy one. She says my doggy housemates should be my size or bigger. I am ok with cats that will put me in my place. However, I get really excited when they are higher off the ground then I am. Foster mom is helping me with this, but says cats are probably a no-go.
I love to go for walks and am really good on a leash; I do not pull at all and am a typical Aussie that checks in. (I guess it’s called herding?) Foster mom takes me twice a day which is great because I really like sniffing everything! You see, two months ago, I left a place where there were many other dogs and I didn’t get to enjoy much outside of my little area! This new world is super cool and I am taking it all in. I can get startled with new noises, but with seeing more of this new world, I will get better. I sleep in my kennel at night and do not make any noise. I do get anxious when alone in my kennel during the day when no-one is around, but do much better when in a gated area or with another dog near me. I have learned where I need to go to tell my foster parents that I need to go potty too! If you pay attention to me, I will go where I am supposed to go! They have this huge fenced in backyard so I can run around without being on a leash. They say this is a must because I have a lot of energy and need to be able to let it out so I can be a good girl in the house.
I love to cuddle and will give hugs! I am a quick study and have learned sit and leave it and am working on stay and wait. I keep hearing foster mom say I would be awesome in agility. I don’t know what that is, but I am up for anything! I have not been around children, but am sure I would love them! Foster mom says I get excited and jump so older children might be best. I am trying to learn not to jump, but I just am so happy to see humans and I want them to notice me! I am excited to meet you and find out if we are the perfect fit!
