My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Cadbury is a Domestic Short Hair (DSH), female, DOB: 4/3/20.

One of 5 sisters in a litter of 5, Cadbury, like all of her siblings, is an adorable and adoring, loveable little cuddle-bug. Extremely friendly and social, this outgoing character likes to initiate and join in ruff-n-tumble playtime with other cats, and she is brashly curious in her adventure-seeking being completely unaware of any dangers in the world around her. Persistent inquisitiveness along with an uninhibited interest in checking-out all things in her environment, this sleek and stealthy, but “still filling-out” feline has a hold-nothing-back, all-in approach to life, adding balance to this exuberance with her obvious high-intelligence – Cadbury is really good and quick at figuring things out.

A warm-hearted, sweetly gentle, very people-oriented cat, Cadbury will drop any activity she is involved in a second for an opportunity to share affection with her people – all people that is. An instigator of playtime, and the most likely to be leading-the-pack in mischievous kitten antics, she, like all of her siblings, is happy-to-be-present, confidently self-possessed, and quite easy-to-please. And after the playtime and exploring is over, Cadbury will be looking to share loving-affection, snuggling in the arms of her people, and before too long setting-off to find a warm, comfortable-spot where she can stretch-out and fall contentedly asleep, usually cuddled with her sister, Mars.

Cadbury, along with littermates, Mars, Hershey, Charleston, and Almond Joy: came to Monroe SPCA as orphans needing critical care - all 5 kittens, barely more than infants, found outdoors. None of them able to eat on their own, they required syringe and bottle feedings early on. The five kitten sisters spent their first weeks with Monroe SPCA in medical foster being treated for URIs, Giardia, Coccidia, and Roundworm.

Now a happy, healthy feline, Cadbury is looking for her forever home with a family who can give her the time and attention a young cat needs. Although Cadbury can be adopted individually, we recommend a paired-adoption with her play buddy and littermate, Mars. A pairing with several of our other young cats having compatible personalities and temperament would also be an excellent choice and good fit.

Cadbury is best suited as an indoor pet and companion for a home with a moderately-active lifestyle. She likes and gets along well with other compatible cats, and she’ll be comfortable in the presence of well-mannered, cat-friendly dogs and respectful children of any age given proper introductions and a period of acclimation to any new environment. Although unguarded and extremely social and friendly with all, Cadbury will need a little bit of adjustment time to warm-up and adjust to her new surroundings. As with all Monroe SPCA adoptable animals, a home visit and a meet-n-greet with any housemate pets will be required prior to adoption.

Cadbury currently resides at Monroe SPCA’s Adoption Center and Retail Store. You can meet her by appointment with pre-approved adoption application. To start the adoption process, complete and submit Monroe SPCA’s adoption application linked above.

All Monroe SPCA cats available for adoption have an adoption fee of $85.00. This fee includes the cat being spayed or neutered, up-to-date on vaccinations, dewormed, tested for FeLV and FIV, and microchipped with lifelong registration prior to adoption.

Completed applications can be emailed to info@monroespca.org or dropped off at Monroe SPCA’s Adoption Center and Retail Store located at 293 W. Monroe Street, Dundee, MI.
