Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Penny has been through a lot lately. After 11 years of love her mom unfortunately passed away and everything Penny has always known changed. She is, understandably, quite wary of new situations and people, but with patience and understanding we think that this adorable girl will eventually learn how to love again and will trust her new family.
Penny is quite a low key housemate according to her foster mom. She mostly sticks to her comfort zone of the kitchen and family room and often quietly keeps to herself. She doesn't play with toys so far and does not attempt stairs but she does very much enjoy walks and naps. So far as hasn't been an overly affectionate girl but she does occasionally sneak in some lap time with her foster mom.
Penny has been very picky about who she chooses to allow into her bubble and we do not feel like she would be good for a home with children. She needs a quiet, relaxed home where she will be allowed to do life at her own pace and in her own way. She may be ok with some other quiet, low key dogs as long as they understand to leave her alone.
If you are interested in meeting Penny please understand that she may not show her true colors at her meet and greet. Please keep an open mind about this girl and imagine how much she will appreciate having a new home and family of her own.
If you would like to meet this special dog, please email dogs@lunashouse.org to set up an appointment. Please be patient to hear from us as we are all volunteers and may not be able to respond immediately.
Our volunteers make sure just the right home is chosen for me so they require a home visit to make sure there are no safety issues that could hurt me. You must live within a 50 mile radius of our location in order to be considered.
The adoption fee is $250 and includes vaccines, flea prevention treatment, neuter/spay, and micro chipping. Like us on Facebook!!

Visual breed identification in dogs in unreliable, for most of our dogs we are making the best guess at what the predominant breed or breed mix might be. We get to know each dog as an individual and do our best to describe each dog based on personality and temperament, not breed label.
