My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

~Please see the training offer at the end of this lovebug's bio~
Dilly is probably 3 years old and is 65 lbs of love and joy! This chunky butt would love to have a home with an active mommy and/or daddy that would take him on hikes and jogs and to all of the fun places where doggos are allowed to go. He's also a great work at home buddy because he is super chill to just hang out and watch some daytime TV for a while.
We rescued Dilly from a shelter in rural MS where he had been for quite a while. Because of the rural location, the little shelter doesn't have a large adopter pool and they wanted to be sure Dilly didn't end up in a bad situation so they asked us if we could help. We were more than happy to take him in and are honored that we are getting to play a big part in his journey.
We think that Dilly will do best in a home with older kids because he doesn't have a good sense of self awareness as far as his size goes. He thinks he's just a small boy when in reality he's more like a bull in a china shop at times. He's a v v good boy, but he's a lot of boy and we worry that littles might be knocked over. (If you're a home that doesn't care if the kiddos take a tumble, then he'll do great with you.)
We haven't found a suitable feline that would agree to take a gamble on cat testing, but we would err on the side of caution and say that he'll probably do best in a home with no kitties.
We have had Dilly trainer evaluated and he passed all of the tests with flying colors. The trainer agreed that he'll do best with some training and once his adopter provides proof of training, we are ready to refund $100 of his adoption fee to help with the training sessions.
Dilly will be a fun addition to any loving family, and we are hoping that we can help him find his home for the holidays.
This dog is spayed/neutered, up to date on vaccinations and current on flea/tick and heartworm preventative. This dog has tested negative for heartworms. The adoption fee is $400 if your adoption is prepaid and final prior to your dog's arrival. An additional $50 will be charged on dogs that are picked up from our Southbury CT adoption center, adopted at an event or foster home. This additional fee is necessary in order to comply with CT HB 5368.
If you are a MA resident, your new family member is required to go through a mandatory 48 hour quarantine period at our Woburn MA isolation facility. Your new family member will be dropped off by our transport on Thursday and will be ready for you to pick him/her up on Saturday between 12pm-2pm. An additional $100 fee will be added for any dogs picked up from the Woburn MA quarantine facility. This additional fee is necessary in order to comply with MA Order 405-CD-12 and Order 1-AHO-05.
