My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hello, my name is Punkin. I am gorgeous, just stunning really. I am young, about a year and a half. I am a female tortie cat with beautiful coloring and floofy fur. I am mature enough to be over that destructive kitten stage, but still playful and funny. Like most cats, I'm a bit shy until I get to know you. I am a good size kitty at 12 lbs. I always use the litterbox and I like to look outside and watch the world through the windows. I am friendly and affectionate once we know each other. I love to be petted and stroked. When I am not soaking up the cuddles, I love to play, to jump and run and chase; however, my best talent, my true skill is lounging. I have purr-fected the art. I prefer a warm spot atop my humans’ bed, especially where their feet belong. I sprawl out on my back with my feet sticking up wherever, my tummy exposed and I dare anyone to disturb me. I also like just looking out the window at the trees, grass, squirrels, birds and such. I also like having a playmate, especially one who is friendly to me. I must admit, some cats are a bit intimidating to me, as I don’t like to be bullied, hissed or growled at. I am sensitive and it hurts my feelings. I need a friend who is happy to have me around. I have never met a dog, so I don’t know if we would get along or not. Maybe, if he/she is kind to me. No chasing. Not cool. As for the care I need, I am easy. I am good at the litter box and don’t like to scratch furniture, only my scratching board. While I like food (who doesn’t?), I am not fussy. I eat whatever the other cats in the household eat. Although I do love Temptations cat treats and can be coaxed out of hiding with them when need be. All I need now is a home and someone to love forever and ever. Please give me a chance to be your newest family member. You’ll be so glad you did! Adoption fee: $75. Adopt a pair: $110. Fee includes testing, deworming, vaccinations, spay/neuter, microchip and 30 days of free pet insurance.

NOTE ABOUT BREED LABELING: Visual breed identification of cats is unreliable and usually inaccurate. So, for most of our adoptable cats, we are only guessing at predominant breed or breed mix. We get to know each cat or kitten as an individual and will do our best to describe each of our cats based on personality, not by breed label.

Adoption Process: Complete the application at www.pawsforliferescue.org. We then arrange a location, date and time for you to meet some pets. If the meeting goes well and everyone is happy, you begin the mandatory, minimum two-week adjustment period with the pet as part of your family. You will pay the non-refundable adoption fee at the start of the two-week adjustment period. This pending period allows your new dog or cat time to adjust to their new home, new people, new routine, etc., and for you to decide if it's a match and the right pet for you. At the end of two weeks (some people extend the adjustment time as needed and that's fine too), if everyone is happy, then we finalize the adoption. Feel free to email if you have any questions.
