Check out our sister brand, Kinship, for vet chat, a nutrition calculator, basic obedience training, and (much) more. So you're never flying solo in this pet parenting thing.
I found a new home! Plenty of my friends are looking for one too. Check out other pets at this shelter, or start a new search.

Here's what the humans have to say about me:
This beautiful female, purebred German Shepherd Dog who needs a wonderful forever home. She successfully crossed an interstate highway without getting hit, and took refuge in the side yard of a good samaritan's house who called Animal Rescue to come and get her. We were able to piece together some of her history, but her owner never came forward to claim her. So she is now up for adoption to a permanent, loving home.
All German Shepherds are protective of their home and their family, and Ducky is no exception. She seems to have always been an outside dog, or a kennel dog, because she is most at home outside or in her kennel. She is starting to relax when inside the house, but she needs more time before she realizes how nice it is to be inside out of the weather and out of the fleas and mosquitoes.
Ducky knows a few basic obedience commands, is housebroken, is spayed, is up-to-date on all of her vaccinations, and she is heartworm negative. She seems to be good with cats, and with other German Shepherds, but her new owner should be cautious when introducing her to other dogs.
Ducky is looking to bond with a person or a family and to give them the love and protection that she hopes to get back from them. Because Ducky is so protective of her home territory, she needs to go to a person or family who is very experienced with German Shepherds or other large guarding breeds. She really tries to please, and would probably be a very fun dog to exercise her mind and her body doing Obedience, Agility, Tracking, or Search & Rescue. We do not recommend Shutzhund training for this dog due to her soft temperament.
If you are interested in learning more about Ducky, please email us today! She is waiting to go to her forever home!
