Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Coco is a 6 yr. old Maltese/Poodle female who encountered some “hard times.” Her owner had severe dementia so a relative took her to a vet to be “put down.” The vet questioned the person as Coco’s health issues were due to severe neglect with severe dental disease and infected ears which could be treated. The relative said no one in family wanted Coco or to pay for her care. This compassionate vet asked the family to surrender Coco to the vet clinic so a rescue could be contacted to pay for Coco’s health care needs. When this wonderful vet called our rescue, we accepted Coco and paid for her medical care. All of Coco’s teeth had to be removed due to advanced gum disease and infection. Her badly infected ears were treated.
Sweet, Coco has now recovered. She loves to eat and has now advanced to small kibble soaked in warm water with cooked chicken. She currently weighs 10 ½ lbs. and is a little overweight. She has a curly coat of hair like a poodle.
Coco is seeking a new home with a quiet atmosphere as she is learning to enjoy gentle affection. She gets along with other dogs in her foster home, but she does not interact them. She would do best with a person who has previous dog experience as she is fearful of care that might cause pain. This little dog is house trained and will go to the door and may bark when she wants to go outside. She comes when called.
