My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hello, my name is Winston and I'm VERY ready for my forever family. Do you know where they are?

I’m a lover, a goofball and as you can tell very handsome. I am 6 years old and have been in the wonderful care of Chicago English Bulldog Rescue for 18 Months. When I first came to CEBR I was far from ready to be adopted. I became very ill, I could not keep on weight, and would become bloated with abdominal fluids. However, I've been feeling great now for over a year! With the help of a specialist at Med Vet Chicago, we were able to pinpoint the issue and get me on my currently healthy and happy path. I have a regular routine of daily medication along with a prescription dog food and have been able to keep up a healthy weight. I just need a check in with my specialist every 6 months for blood work and keep to my doctor recommended kibble and medication. Pretty easy stuff. Unfortunately, somewhere along the way I seem to have fallen through the cracks and not been able to find my forever family.

I am a massive couch potato and love to lounge with my people. I also love to lay on a blanket, lay out on the back porch or lay in the courtyard of my foster family's apartment building. Do you see a pattern here? I do however also like to walk and explore. I'm very nosey. I have made friends in my foster neighborhood with a Shiba Inu and even have some Bulldog friends I go to visit. I am also completely car obsessed and love nothing more than a ride. I get super excited to go anywhere and actually run into the vet’s office when we get there. I am full of life and love for everyone that I meet. I've been known to give "paw" to everyone at the vet's office. I self-entertain during the day with either my toys or a long nap so I am very self-sufficient. I’ve completed training classes with A Sound Beginning and really love to practice my training skills and get all the treats! My favorite treat is sweet potato, mashed, dried, or even freeze dried, I love it!

I am looking for a home with a predictable routine and simple lifestyle, where I can relax and enjoy life. I am looking for parents who are interested in continuing my training work to help me be the best bully I can be. Ideally, I’d be in a home with no other animals and no children or adult children only as I am very accustomed to doing my own thing and being the center of attention in a calm and steady environment. However, if you have a doggy who is very chilled and my speed, I might like that. We’d have to see what I thought. 😊 I am ready to be a rescue success story and I would love to meet anyone who thinks they might have a place for me in their heart and home.
