Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Gizzy is a super super sweet and ever so gentle 10 yr old 25 lb Australian Cattle Dog Corgi mix. This loving senior unfortunately hasn’t had the best life up until now. He was a owner surrender but they originally wanted to euthanize him because they said he was old and they didn’t think anyone would want him. Well we knew that wasn’t true because we wanted him and we know that there are many selfless animal lovers out there who enjoy the endless love and calming energy a senior dog can provide.
Gizzy has since thrived in his foster home and he has really come out of his shell. He now actually seeks out attention and will go lay on his fosters clothes when they are taking a bath or a shower just so he is near them and can get attention from them when they are done. He also does great with cats, other dogs, as well as all people and children too. He is mostly potty trained but because of him being a senior he is not able to hold it for that long so he has to go out often or he will have an accident. Also he does not like being crated at all so he should not go to a home where crating is necessary. Also he is a little slower then a normal dog because of his age but he still gets around fine and loves roaming the yard and laying in the sun.
Gizzy has been fully vetted and has had a complete senior blood panel which came back normal for his age. He is also utd on shots, heartworm - and on preventative, and neutered.
Gizzy would do best in a home where someone is home a lot and can provide him the attention he desires and deserves. Also he needs a single level home with no stairs and a fenced in yard so he can enjoy fresh air and basking in the sunshine.
If you are looking for a special senior like Gizzy to open up your home to and in return get unconditional love then please fill out a application for consideration on our website, www.cubbyscrusade.org .
