Puffy is a handsome and very smart Poodle who has had some difficult breaks. He had a hard time adjusting to the shelter after being surrendered by his family of 8 years…but who wouldn’t? It takes him a long time to trust people and he can become reactive and unpredictable. He can growl and snap.

Puffy is not suited to be around children. He is not a cuddly, sit on your lap kind of dog just yet and may never be. He does enjoy long walks, playing fetch with his toys and relaxing in his bed. He is affectionate on his terms only. If he is not in the mood he needs someone who can just walk away and let him be who he is and gently direct him toward playtime or relaxing. It may take months before he is accepting of a new person so patience and experience are the qualities he needs in a new owner. If you think you are up for the challenge, which could be very rewarding down the road.

Precious Puffy is an 8 year old Poodle who is fully vaccinated, microchipped and neutered. He is currently at our Atlas (Queens) location. Kindly keep in mind that our adoptions are local only (Long Island, Queens, Brooklyn, Manhattan).
