Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Meet Spencer. An adorable 3yr old Mastiff/Pit mix. If you want to start the adoption after reading his bio, it begins with a phone interview so make sure to provide a number where you can be reached. An application is sent after the phone interview.
Spencer came to us when he was abandoned by his owners. A family friend took responsibility for him, and the 3 other dogs in the home with him, that would have been dumped. She reached out to rescue organizations to get Spencer and the other dogs placed in a new forever home.
Spencer spent a great deal of time with his tail between his legs, head down and afraid of life with no confidence. But everyday he comes more alive and his big ‘olé love bug’s personality is coming out. He wants to play and be with you all the time. And you have to love a talker to be this guys new owner. He is very animated and expressive.
Spencer suffers from a skin condition as a result of long term malnutrition and neglect. His healing process is coming along nicely with a restricted diet of a single protein and supplements, which he will need to remain on. His favorite past times are chewing up his stuffies, playing fetch with his nerf ball launching gun, and, of course, talking to you. He recently started doing zoomies around the back yard which is always so rewarding to see him begin to trust. He is also learning to enjoy daily walks, without his tail between his legs, afraid of what is around the next corner. Now his head is held high and he is very playful on his walks. Everyday his personality comes out more and more. But it is time to start to look for a permanent home for the silly lovable boy before he and I become too attached.
He weighs about 85lbs now, but when he fully rehabbed and healthy at his normal body weight he will be about 90-95lbs. If you like big love bugs and have room in your life, Spencer would love to meet you.
