Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Please note that we are a TX based rescue that tansports our dogs once they have been adopted. All of our dogs reside in foster homes in TX, so much is known about their temperment and personality.
While my name is from the Far East, my hairytage is American and European. I am an unique hybrid of the American original Louisiana Catahoula Leopard Dog and French Basset Hound.
From the working dog Catahoula, I inherited my two different colored (one brown, one blue), marble like eyes and beautiful patchwork coat. I also inherited my working dog personality from the amazing Catahoula. My ancestors were originally used by early settlers of Louisiana to herd and control wild cattle and hogs. The word "Catahoula" is of Choctaw origin and the translation is "sacred lake". If you don't have any cattle or hogs that need tending, you and your family will become my full time job!! I love spending time with hoomans!!
I definitely inherited the Basset Hound temperament for being affectionate and loving with a sweet and charming personality. My favorite activity is snuggling!! If my Foster Papa sits down in the yard, I will curl up on his lap for a much needed hug! I will sit there quietly for as long as he is willing!!!
Winner Winner, chicken dinner!! With a genetic lottery like mine, you can't go wrong!!
Hmmmm.....that makes me think of eating a chicken dinner...I would love having a chicken dinner right about now!! But, I digress.......
I am a very sweet 2 year old boy and am fully growed at 45 pounds. I know how to walk on a leash and know to "take my business" outside. I will make a great companion for hiking and outdoor adventures!!
If your future has a place for a reliable, stable, devoted companion, please fill out the online application and adopt me today!!
