Rowdy is a beautiful, 7 yo male, and is a blue merle with copper trim. He hails from Arkansas and has had a rough past. He had some medical issues that required shaving parts of his beautiful coat but he is all healed and ready for his future to start.
Rowdy is a velcro dog and very much wants to be with his person. He is pretty low key but not a couch potato. He enjoys walks, exploring outside, watching the squirrels, and absolutely loves car rides. He is interested in toys but not in fetch or frisbee. A good game of tug is right up his alley. Bones stuffed with peanut butter is a favorite snack.
He crates well but would rather not. He is fine to free roam in the house at night. He is best crated when left alone as he may have a bit of separation anxiety. He is fine on a leash and learning basic commands. He is also good off leash. He is a rather picky eater but won't turn his nose up at cookies or cheese.
The perfect home for Rowdy is an older couple that is retired and can lavish love and adoration on him 24/7. Rowdy would not do well being left alone for long periods of time. A large yard or country home would be great. Like to travel or have a motorhome? Even better! Rowdy is your guy. He wants to be your companion and be where you are.
He is not unfriendly but IS cautious when greeting strangers. He needs a family that will allow him to set the pace as he gets use to his new home. Visiting children are ok but will require a meet and greet. No young children as he doesn't like to be poked and prodded. He wouldn't mind a playful female dog companion but it is not necessary. Males will require a meet and greet.
Rowdy is HW+. He is on his doxy which his foster will finish before his adoption. Then, he will require strict monthly HW dose for six months. Proof he is getting his meds is required until he is cleared.
