My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Sometimes things just happen.
Sometimes things just do not work out the way you want.
Sometimes things just don't go as planned.

Unfortunately for Lexi, it's that time. Again.
I'll try to make it short and sweet because we are on a deadline for a new home.

SOMETIMES THINGS JUST HAPPEN.
A little over a year ago, We rescued Lexi from the city shelter. She was brought in as a stray and was full of milk. Unfortunately, she could not be released and her kittens she was ripped away from, never were found. Lexi developed painful and dangerous mastitis, and was extremely distraught and heartbroken, so we pulled her for Rescue and took her to the facility. She was there for a little while but was soon adopted by a wonderful woman named Darla Cohagen. Darla had Lexi at her home and everything was going great, they were meant to be! On the 11th day after Lexie was adopted, Darla was hit by a car and killed. It was absolutely devastating. Darla was a wonderful woman and once again Lexi found herself heartbroken and without a home. Within just three weeks this cat had lost everything she knew, ended up in a shelter, then the vet, then a facility, then a home.... And now, another change. She went to a foster home with Darlas best friend, while we looked for a home. Literally six changes in just weeks. One territory change alone can have detrimental effects on a cat.... Soemtimes things just happen....

SOMETIMES THINGS DON'T WORK OUT THE WAY YOU WANT.
It was about a week after Lexi was in foate that another wonderful woman decided to adopt Lexi. We thought it was going to be perfect, but it turned out that Lexi was just too rambunctious and energetic for the new home. As much as we wanted it to work, it just wasn't going to go the way we all wanted. So, we search for another new home for Lexi. Due to no fault of her own, it was proving to be rather difficult to find the right fit.

SOMETIMES THINGS JUST DON'T GO AS PLANNED.
Finally, we met a third amazing young couple who seem to be the perfect fit. Unfortunately, sometimes life does its own thing and doesn't go as planned and this young woman had some personal hurdles of her own. Lexi found herself moving to a couple different places while finally settling with the young woman's family. It has been nearly a year that Lexi has been with this young woman and many many months in this current home. And unfortunately, they have tried everything but to no avail - Lexi is simply not happy.

Lexi is a highly intelligent and very active young cat. Simple play and lounging around the house is just not enough for her. It is a mutual agreement between the adopter who has had her for nearly a year and my "expertise" if you will, that Lexi needs an indoor outdoor home. Some cats just require outdoor stimulation to completely fulfill their mental and physical needs, that's just the way it is.
Because Lexi is not mentally and physically fulfilled, she acts out in ways that she cannot help. She is very rambunctious inside the home because she's trying to find things to do to occupy her mind space, she redirects her frustration to other animals in the home and anxiously overeats because she is so under stimulated. The family has tried many, many, many things to help her be happy but what it boils down to is, this is not the right setting for Lexi. So we are on the hunt for her fourth and final home. Due to no fault of her own, or any of the adopters. Sometimes things just don't go as planned.....

#FAMILYGOALS 👪🏡
🍂 Lexi needs an indoor outdoor home. It would be highly recommended that she stay indoors for atleast a month prior to being allowed outside for short spurts. A six foot fenced yard would be ideal. Or a large safe Catio.
🍂 Lexi loves people and can't get enough affection. She needs lots of reassurance, love and attention. She'd be great for someone who is home a lot. She would love someone to be at her beck and call and spoil her absolutely rotten. And she deserves it.
🍂 Lexi likes to play some but more so loves Laps, pets and affection.
🤸‍♀️ Lexi needs a home with older kids. Small children frighten her.
🐈 Lexi is not a fan of other cats and a no cat home would be best.
🐕 Lexi is fine with dogs after a little time to warm up.
▪️ Lexi is litter trained.
We will be coordinating with Lexi's current owner for this adoption. So you will be able to speak extensively with the owner if you have questions.
