Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Hi! My name is Dash and I'm pleased to meet you! I am looking for love, obviously in all of the wrong places as I have been very unlucky! I was found running with two other dogs in Youngstown and no one knows for sure how long. I was injured and very very skinny... It was so scary out there that I don't ever want to go back! Always searching for food never knowing where we were going to find it and fresh water... You don't appreciate fresh water until you don't have it. Thankfully some lady decided we needed help and believe it or not she caught all three of us! Ebner, who was our friend and a great dog, found his home because one of the vet techs fell in love with him. And a really long story for another day, but myself and Remy are now in foster care and doing great.
Sadly they took me to the vet because I was injured and found out I was heartworm positive.... see what I mean when I say I've been very unlucky? But my luck changed because I did receive heartworm treatment, I've gotten all of my vaccines, I've had a fecal check and a microchip. I still need neutered, which I'm not looking forward to but they tell me he has to happen... And they've been good to me so far so I will trust them.
I am approximately 5 years old. I am a mixed breed but I am pure of heart! They keep telling me I have some Hound in me... Again I don't know, but I will trust them. I am fostered with other dogs and cats and I'm friends with all of them. They've been very kind to me while I've been here, and let me heal and rest during my heartworm treatment. I'm pretty happy-go-lucky and don't let things get me down. I love attention and being loved on, for so long I did not have that. I also love car rides, long walks and cruising around the farm on Foster mom's side by side! I mean how many Foster dogs can say they do that?
I love being with my people, I get a little nervous when they leave because I don't want to be left again, but I'm getting better everyday and learning to trust that my people are coming back. If you think I may be the dog for you I would love to meet you!
Our adoption process starts with our application. Once the application is approved, a member of Legacy will contact you to set up a home visit. The home visit usually last 1-1 1/2 hours and is to make sure our dog and any current dogs/cats are getting along, as well as both of us agreeing it's a fit. At this time the adoption fee is due, and begins the 2 week trial. We will check in during the 2 week trial. If it's not working, our dog is returned to the foster home and all except $100.00 {$75 if Senior} of the adoption fee is returned. At the end of the 2 week trial, you decide if you will finalize the adoption - if finalized, the Adoption Contract is signed and all medical records are turned over to you. If at any time you need to rehome the dog it contractually needs to be returned to Legacy Dog Rescue.
ADOPTION FEE's:
Puppies under 6 months: $199.00
Adults: $150.00
Seniors (over 7 yrs): $99.00
