My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

HI guys and gals, My name is Marley and I am a 3yr old Blue Merle, neutered male, Aussie. I unfortunately found myself in a few homes that just didn't understand my needs as a herding breed during the first 2.5 years of my life. I was surrendered to ASF a few months ago in hopes of finding the perfect family to call my own.

Over the past few months I have been working with my foster dad and fellow foster parents on a few 'quirks' they say I have. You see I get VERY excited when I see strangers or other dogs while out on walks and become what they say is 'leash reactive'. They tell me that sitting and looking all 'puppy dog eyed' at them instead of barking is the best thing I can do and I think I'm getting better at doing that. They have also been strict with me about 'sit' and 'down' and 'wait' (at the door) and if I do say so myself, I have aced those. I enjoy the company of other dogs of all sizes but prefer they not be annoying like my foster brother Keller; you see that kid doesn't have an off switch and sometimes I just go hide so he will leave me alone. I'm 'indifferent' to strangers in my house and do best if introduced to them instead of them just barging into my home.

I need to be in a home with kids over the age of ten. I walk well on a leash and really enjoy my daily walks. I also LOVE to cuddle with my foster dad on the couch and watch TV. I am house and crate trained but don't need to be crate really unless left for long periods of time. My adopter is required to live within driving distance of Nashville, TN (No more than roughly 4-6 hour drive) and my adopter will be required to pre pay for training classes with a positive reinforcement trainer prior to me going home with them. If you think I am the perfect fit for you, please fill out the application: https://www.australianshepherdsfurever.org/adoption-application All adoption fees are used for future rescue efforts.
