Hello! I am Gunner, a laid-back boy who loves to play with toys. I enjoy ropes, frisbees and tug of war. I am a hunter of squeakers and will abandon a toy once the squeaker is out. I am a smart dog who walks well on leash, and is crate and house trained. Unfortunately, I have been attacked by other dogs and no longer feel safe around them. Therefore, I need to be the only pet where I can feel safe in the home. I do get along with a senior dog in my foster home who respects my space. Therefore, there is a possibility I could fit in to a home with a similar situation.
I am a resource guarder (toys and food) with other dogs, but great with people. People can be around me freely when I am eating and playing. Just in case, any kids in the home should be older and able to respect my space. I am very loving and have so much potential. I need a home where I can just be a dog.
I am a 7-year-old, 45 lb. hound mix. I am neutered, current on vaccines, heartworm negative and microchipped. I am living in a foster home in Hampton, Virginia. Our adoptable dogs are all in various foster homes and can be met by contacting rescue. Rescue will then provide foster home's contact information. Meet and greets will be arranged between foster and potential adopters. We also have adoption events at Petsmart on various dates which can be checked on our Facebook page, Operation Save a Shelter Dog.

Our Mission
Operation Save A Shelter Dog is a foster based, IRS-recognized 501c(3) rescue whose mission is to work with shelters on the East Coast by saving dogs at high risk of euthanasia or that have little hope of adoption in their current condition. Not only is it our goal to find furever homes for our dogs, but also to educate the public on the importance of spaying, neutering, vaccinating and providing preventative care for their pets.
