Here's what the humans have to say about me:
PLEASE READ these requirements for adopting Sprout before reading her "bio". Sprout will not be adopted to a home with children under 12 or with a medium or large dog or an unfenced pool. She will not be adopted as a stay-at-home dog while her people go to work. She must either have human companionship most of the day or go to work with her person. Her adoption fee is $250. She will not be available to go to her new home until 10 days after her adoption has been approved, as we are waiting to have her spayed until the last minute since she is so small, but we will have her spayed before she is placed.
Sprout is simply the cutest puppy in the world. She is about 15 weeks old on 9/26. She is half Chihuahua and half Miniature Pinscher. She was the runt of her litter and was rescued after spending five hours in the hot sun without food or water. She weighed a pound at the time and was severely dehydrated and malnourished but now, seven weeks later, Sprout is a healthy, hardy 3 1/2 lbs. She is less than 6 inches tall at the shoulder. She is tiny but sturdy, with big bones for her size and a solid body. This little girl is smart, funny and has a streak of independence rarely seen in the tiny dogs. She is extremely affectionate and loves everyone, but she often entertains herself playing with her toys. She also loves to play with other dogs and she wants to play with the cat in her foster home. At her age, Sprout doesn't understand the signals the cat and older dogs give her when they have no desire to play and she can be a bother to them. Sprout uses potty pads in the house and will also go to the door sometimes when she has to potty. She learned "sit" and "stay" very early and will sit before you ask her if you have treats. She is crate-trained and travels well in a doggy carrier bag.
This is a darling puppy who will be a fun companion when she grows up. Because of her size, she does have a high-pitched bark that some people (and neighbors in apartments or condos) might find annoying. She is not a big barker but will bark for attention and during play with other dogs. She will probably be a good, if almost invisible, watchdog as an adult.
If you are interested in adopting Sprout, please email us at Paprescue@aol.com and we will email you an adoption application. The adoption process includes a home visit and reference checks. Sprout is up-to-date with routine shots, house trained and will be spayed.
