My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

-NO OTHER ANIMALS IN HOME!

Hi! My name is Hugo and I’m a very handsome 8 year old boy looking for a new forever home. How did I get my name? Well when I was a puppy someone said “Oh! He’s Huge!” Take the letter O and put it at the end and you get HUGO.
My foster mom says I am stubborn and I want to do things my way. She says I need to go to a home with lots of Malamute experience, and one that will sternly but fairly make me follow the human pack rules. Since I am so large my new home needs to have older kids (12+) so I don’t knock any younger children over when I play.
I love going for walks and car rides and I even got to ride in 4 small airplanes to get from my last home in CO to my foster home here in Gladwin MI. It was quite the adventure and naturally all the pilots loved me. Whenever my foster mom takes me out for walks, I literally stop traffic! Everyone wants to stop and pet me. Who can resist all this handsomeness!
Toys are lots of fun and every so often I get a good case of the zoomies to let out the silly side of my personality. Oh, I’m a cuddler too so I need to be able to lay right next to you on the couch or bed and I am pretty particular about what time I get up in the morning. It took a bit but my foster mom finally figured out what kind of food I like to eat.
I need to be the only pet in the household as I do have a typical malamute prey drive and I’m not good with ANY other dogs BIG or SMALL. In fact I am a country boy at heart and I would do best in a rural area. City life with dogs all around bring out the less than lovable side of me. I do know all the basic obedience commands, but sometimes I drive my foster mom nuts when I take forever to do the command or just plain ignore her unless there is a treat involved.
I hope I find a new home soon. Is your family the one for me?
