Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Please note, we are a Texas based rescue that transports our pups once
they are adopted. All of our dogs reside in foster homes in TX, so much is known
about their temperament, training level and personality. Thank you for wanting to adopt!
My Foster Mum has given me the title of "World's Best Dog" because I am such an easy, people pleasin' , all around "Good Boy"!!
I met my Foster Mum during the confiscation of 60 dogs from a hoarder. I know, you are asking, how did a good boy like me end up at a hoarder's house? I am such a friendly guy, I was most likely picked up on the streets. I am microchipped, but the microchip is untraceable. It is obvious, at some point, I was someone's much loved companion.
When I saw Foster Mum at the doorway of the hoarder's house, I literally crawled over the top of everyone to get to her; a lot of the doggies were scared and didn't want to go, but not me!! I knew this was my ticket out!! Did I mention that I am a super smart boy, too?
I am a low maintenance, medium energy 3/4 year old Spitz/Smooth Fox Terrier hybrid doggie...but I don't run on petrol and electric, I run on scritches, hugs, and love!! I am a physically smallish dog at 15 pounds with the heart of a Saint Bernard!! I am very gentle and kind to humans and other doggies. I have been the mentor for many of the other dogs from the hoarding situation in their transition to accepting humans as a positive factor in their lives. As I mentioned, many of the doggies are terrified of humans; Foster Mum will sit in the middle of our yard and I will jump on her lap as she hands out treats to the other doggies. All of them have started timidly coming up for treats after they see my trust and affection for Foster Mum. I guess you could call me a doggy therapy dog :)
I would do best with a person, couple, or family that is active. After my undeserved incarceration, I love going outdoors for walks, hikes, and adventures. I am a strong little guy and would enjoy moderate hiking, back backing, and camping. I also love the water!! I went for a swim in the river just this morning!! Foster Mum says I am "unflappable"...whatever that means!! I also enjoy snuggling up on the couch with my human.
At this point you may be asking yourself, "“O Romeo, Romeo, wherefore art thou Romeo"....I am right here at my Foster Mum's house waiting for you to adopt me!!
If you have been looking for a companion that has the heart of a lion, kindness and patience of a saint, intelligence and perseverance of a leader, I'm your guy!!
