My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Do you have room in your heart and home for a sweet former street cat? This is JoJo. He is looking for a home.
We met JoJo, a friendly stray, in the Spring of 2020 when he was living on the streets of Sunset Park, Brooklyn. Based on how friendly he is, he was definitely a housecat at one time, but ended up on the streets to fend for himself. We began feeding him daily and hoping that we could bring him inside.
One night in August of 2020, while on our nightly cat colony feeding rounds, we found JoJo with a deep slash wound on one of his front legs. We immediately put him a carrier and brought him to the animal ER that night. He needed surgery to repair his wound, which took weeks to fully heal. He also had a trauma-induced hernia in his abdomen which the surgeon repaired at the same time.
JoJo is now fully recovered, and looking for his forever home. He is about 8 years old, healthy, neutered, vaccinated, and tested negative for FIV/FELV. JoJo is as sweet and friendly as can be. He loves people and will be a loyal best friend to a lucky human. He is a large and tall cat, and can be very playful at times. He also likes his independence and doesn’t need to be pampered 24/7.
JoJo does not like other cats. He wants to be the king of his castle, so he needs to go to a home with no other cats.
