Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Rudy is a 4 month old chihuahua/chinese crested mix puppy. He came from a breeder who became ill and couldn't care for all her dogs. He's had his dhpp and rabies vaccines. He weighed 6 lbs on 9/4. He is working diligently on house training and is doing quite well when he has access to the back yard. When he doesn't, he will potty on newspaper on the floor. He is not neutered, and that will be the adopter's responsibility.
Rudy's mother is a puppy mill dog that was never socialized. Rudy picks up on her anxiety around people, and tends to be shy at first, so he doesn't make a great first impression. COVID hasn't helped, because I haven't been able to get him out and around many people , though he's even shy with me. Once he is in your arms, he relaxes and enjoys affection and attention. I have placed several of his litter mates. They have adjusted well to their new homes, and have bonded easily with their new families. They just need a little extra time.
Rudy will thrive with a patient family who will help build his confidence, and use positive reinforcement training methods only. He is food motivated and very smart. I have no doubt he will make a wonderful addition to a family.
