Check out our sister brand, Kinship, for vet chat, a nutrition calculator, basic obedience training, and (much) more. So you're never flying solo in this pet parenting thing.

Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Just look at this happy boy! He is just the sweetest thing! Jake is about 9-10 months old 35lb red merle that is neutered, UTD on shots and microchipped. He is on HW and flea and tick preventative.
If you are looking for an active boy who LOVES to snuggle, get belly rubs and give hugs, he may be the one for you! Jake is learning very quickly how to walk nicely on a leash. He needs just a little correction. He loves to play ball and will bring it right to you and drop at your feet. Once he has had enough, he’ll run off with it and hide it! He will sit (or lay) and wait for his food. He will sit, lie down, shake hands and roll over. Although these things are all a work in progress and he will sometimes not want to participate so continued training is key, as Jake is still super young.
Jake is potty trained and has been left loose in the house up to 5-6 hours without any issues. He does not like a crate and whines quite vocally, but will eventually settle down for short periods. We haven’t found it necessary to have him crated though. There has been no destructive chewing or counter surfing or potty accidents. We’re also working on taking treats nicely. He tends to get a little grabby with them but will take them nice when corrected.
Jake loves all people (EVEN KIDS OF ALL AGES) and dogs. He would love to be in a home with another playful pup or 2 and active humans that will exercise him a lot! He has not been tested with cats but he does have a high prey drive with squirrels and rabbits so I’m assuming he would chase kitties also, but that’s just a guess. I would also recommend a securely fenced yard. He has not shown any signs of trying to dig under or go over our 4 foot chain link.
Jake is being fostered in Central Illinois and you would need to come here for a meet and greet after your application has been submitted.
ASF is a 501c3 non-profit. All of our adoption fees go to help pay for vetting our fosters and for future rescue efforts.
