My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hi friends! My name is Joy and I am an approx 9 month old Terrier mix. I came into rescue when my previous owner was no longer able to care for me. Let me tell you..I have been nothing but a JOY since arriving into Rovers Retreat Rescue.

I have been settling into my foster home quite nicely but I would really enjoy a forever home to call my own. I must warn everyone reading this..I am 100% puppy and will require a family who will dedicate their time to teaching me all the wonderful things I have yet to learn...in return I promise to be a loving companion for many many years!

I am still learning to go potty outside..therefore I still have accidents in my foster home. I will need a family who will be very patient in teaching me where it is appropriate to go potty and to praise me each time I do so correctly..I am very treat motivated so this should be a very easy process.

I also am pretty mouthy and am learning appropriate things to chew. If you provide me endless toys I will eventually learn not to nibble on your hand. Just exchange a proper chew toy and I should get the hint in no time! For this reason, I would do best in a home without any young children.I sleep in my crate in my foster home and have been sleeping through the night without any issues. I will do best if my forever family continues crate training with me.

As stated above..I am all puppy and will require positive reinforcement obedience training in my forever home..I get along with big and small dogs and would love a playful dog in my forever home. If not, I need to have ample opportunities to socialize as I love to play and get all my energy out!

Oh..I forgot to mention..I LOVE water. Whenever my foster mom fills my water bowl with water I love to play in it and get myself soaking wet..I have even jumped in a little pond..I scared my foster mom half to death!

If you are interested in making me a forever part of your family please head over to Rover's Retreats website www.roversretreat.org to fill out an adoption application.

Please note: Joy is being fostered in Woodland Hills, CA and her adoption fee is $500
