Here's what the humans have to say about me:
1. We Adopt Only In The Greater St. Louis Area. No exceptions.
2. A physically fenced yard is required. No, a nearby park is not a fenced yard.
3. We do not adopt to homes with small children under the age of six years old.
4. Herding dog experience is preferred.
In the words of his foster dad: Hi there! My name is Jaxon Stormbringer but you can call me Jax. Actually, I answer to any other dog's name so that I can beat them to you for the treat, dinner, belly rub etc. I used to be a cute stud puppy but that soon changed once I was rescued, now I’m just a cute four year old puppy. My breeding days have passed but, now I am learning to be a dog, trust people and just love to snuggle, oh boy do I love to snuggle. I am great for those nights where you need a Corgi to just plop their head into your lap and just listen to the sound of your voice and let your fingers run through my coat.
I like going for walks and experiencing different things, but remember, a lot of things are still new to me. I am learning to enjoy being picked up and plopped over a shoulder for pets and snuggles, there seems to be a lot of that going around. I enjoy other dogs, but remember, I am a Corgi and as Yoda once said, “strong in herding is he”. Doggie day care environments are not my thing, but I enjoy busy people that I get to be busy with.
Being a stud puppy in my early years has left me with a habit that will probably be with me for the rest of my life but I am getting better at not doing it. I still mark things… but the frequency has died down over time and I listen when you tell me to stop. Old habits are hard to break but the marking is far enough apart, my foster dad does not make me wear a belly band. He kind of laughs since I am big for a Corgi, a healthy 32 pounds, I am a little on the short side and when I lift my leg to mark, well, I just pee on the floor a little. It’s not much and my foster dad says “God must be a woman since the Spot Bot exist”… I don’t know what he means, but this machine cleans up after I mark and he just smiles.
I am good with other dogs and as for kids, I have seen the shorter humans but have not lived around them. The neighbor kids love to pet me and I must warn you, I am not broke, but once someone starts to pet me, I may just flop on my side to make sure they don’t miss da Corgi belly! They messed up my docked tail, it is about a three inch tail that just flies all over the place when I am happy and just hear your voice. I am a bit old school though with my tats and torn ear but don’t let that fool with all the love I have to give to the right family.
Jax is neutered, vaccinated, microchipped. For an application, please e-mail claireelizabeth@petssecondchance.org .
