For Adopt a Pet and the PEDIGREE® brand, October is all about finding homes for dogs in shelters. Adopt this month for a PEDIGREE® Wet Food Pouch and a chance to win a Homecoming-style photo shoot and shelter donation.
This helps Chicago Canine Rescue with pet care costs.

Here's what the humans have to say about me:
** Pepper is currently in a foster home, and she is available for adoption! Email applications@chicagocaninerescue.org to set up a meet and great. **
Meet Pepper, a graceful Black Lab with a heart full of love and a touch of wisdom. At five years old, this gentle girl is looking for a quiet, loving home where she can enjoy the serene life she deserves. With her sleek coat and soulful eyes, Pepper is the perfect companion for those who appreciate a calm and steady presence.
Pepper thrives in a peaceful environment and prefers leisurely on-leash walks over high-energy adventures. She's known to be a fence-jumper, so a secure, fenced yard or an indoor life with regular walks is ideal for her safety and happiness. Despite her tendency to explore, she is an affectionate and loyal friend who will bring warmth and joy to your life.
She gets along well with other large dogs and teens, though she's happiest in a more tranquil setting. Pepper is ready to settle into a loving home where she can be cherished for her sweet and serene nature. If you're looking for a devoted companion to share quiet moments and gentle walks, Pepper might just be the perfect match for you. Come meet her today and see if your home could be her forever haven.

More about this shelter
CCRF was founded in 2001 to help find permanent, loving homes for homeless dogs in our city. In just over seven years, CCRF has saved the lives of over 2,000 dogs, cats, kittens and puppies.
CCRF now assists the animals that are the MOST vulnerable in Midwest - the dogs and cats that are slated for euthanasia because they are too old, too young, injured, have disabilities, or have simply been overlooked for too long by potential adopters at other shelters.
