My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Parker is a 6yr old Male Chihuahua. He is brown & black with a white marking or two. A very sweet boy who would be happy to spend his day in your lap or following you around the house. He likes going for walks, cuddling with his people and car rides. However he does not like to be left alone in the car and will have a barking melt down if you leave him. He is good with other dogs as long as they are smaller dogs. He is quite small himself and frightened of medium and large sized dogs. Parker loves to run and play with his dog companions at his foster home but he can be bossy. He has started a fight or two but they have just been a lot of noise. A correction consisting of “Parker No” & it is all over with.
Parker came into rescue because he was marking. This is a behavioral issue not a medical issue. The behavior has all but stopped in his foster home with consistent monitoring and verbal corrections when necessary. This is something that will have to continue in his adoptive home to keep this behavior from returning.
Parker has lived in a home with a cat and there were no issues. He can be a little bit of a barker when a stranger comes into the home. We are continuing to work on that. He is neutered and up to date on his shots and heartworm check. He is 8-10” at the shoulder and weighed 10 lbs at his visit to the vet. He should be fine in a home with respectful children 8 yrs old and up.
