My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.

Meet Diane!  She is just the cutest little pumpkin!  Born around August 2019, she is fine-boned at 71 pounds and will probably weigh 5 more when she finishes growing.

Before coming into rescue, Diane was a stray wandering the streets with her brother Jack.  She was afraid of people.  Her skin was red and hot from infection, and she was malnourished.

Three weeks later with lots of tender loving care, she is learning to trust people and is starting to feel healthy.  She looks so much better than before.  The salmon oil supplements have made a world of difference in her skin.  Once feeling like straw, her coat is now soft.  A few more weeks will see her fur getting thicker and more beautiful.

A sensitive girl, adorable Diane needs more time to gain confidence.  She is still shy, and she needs a little coaxing to know that she can approach you.  Right now, she needs people to move slowly around her, as sudden moves scare her.  She takes even the slightest correction to heart, as if her feelings have been hurt.

Her naturally jubilant personality is starting to shine through.  She is figuring out how fun toys are, and she loves playing with them.  She likes chewing on hard bones, and she loves unstuffing fluffy toys.  (Beware your pillows, blankets, and ottomans as she learns the difference between furniture and approved play things!)

She loves playing with the big dogs in her foster home.  She loves playing chase with them and running like the wind in the back yard.  She needs a playful doggy companion in her forever home.  This playmate will continue teaching her how to be confident in new situations.  She will continue picking up social cues from this playmate.  (If you don’t already have a suitable fur buddy for her, adopt one from us!)

Diane is a fun dog who listens well.  She house-trained immediately, which was quite a feat for any dog coming straight from the street.  She has no need to be crated.

She is working on her leash training, and she is not much of a barker.

Sweet Diane will be a wonderful little companion dog to hang with her kind and nurturing forever family.

SPIN Pyrs are all in foster homes in the Dallas/Fort Worth area. Potential adopters are asked to make travel arrangements if they live elsewhere. All SPIN dogs are spayed or neutered, current on vaccinations and on heartworm prevention. Please go to our website www.SpinRescue.org and fill out an application for this great Great Pyrenees!
