My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Tom Petty!

This handsome black and white tux cat is approximately 2 years old. He was a stray who ended up in a high kill shelter and then came into SOS Rescue’s foster program.

Tom Petty is a very social and loving cat. He loves pets and will let you hold him. He is also very talkative and meows for attention. He just wants to stay by his foster mom’s side or sit in her lap. He also loves spending time on the screened patio, watching birds from the cat tower, and taking naps on the wicker chair under the ceiling fan. He is very calm and laid-back. His foster moms says if she could only use one word to describe him, it would be SWEET! Tom Petty is very much loved by his foster mom but he deserves his own human or family to love.

This amazing, beautiful, lovable kitty is neutered and up to date on his vaccinations, and microchipped. Tom Petty has everything going for him EXCEPT he tested positive for Feline Immunodeficiency Virus (FIV). This does not mean he can’t live a happy, normal life. He is healthy and the virus may never progress any further.

Tom is not contagious to humans or dogs. He gets along well with other cats and would be a good companion to another FIV cat. The virus can only be transmitted to other cats through a deep bite wound which normally happens during mating or when unneutered males fight over territory or females.

Tom says, “DON‘T be afraid of me, even though I’m positive for FIV; I’m a healthy boy who intends to live a very long time, LOVING the person who adopts me”.

Tom simply has too much love to give to be without a human companion and home to call his own.

Tom’s adoption fee is $150.00 dollars with the following vetting- neutered, up to date rabies shot, wormed and microchipped! The adoption fee also covers transportation cost.

Locations to meet our transport van may vary depending on the location of adopters but here are some of the cities where we make stops. Keep in mind that the stops are subject to change. We take all necessary precautions pertaining to COVID 19.
