Image growing up in a yard with a human throwing you food over a fence and pouring water in your already dirty water day after day. The human never touched you or the other three dogs in the yard and you lived outside like this summer, winter spring and fall until finally 8 years into your life someone reported your owner to the authorities and they finally came to save you! You found yourself placed in a box separate from the only friends you had ever known. Taken to a noisy shelter, poked, probed, bathed and then stuck in a kennel alone. WOW SCARY right??? Well that was the experience for Max's, his best friend Moose and his 2 other fur buddies. Unfortunately the oldest of the 4 was quite ill and passed away :( The other one was adopted and seems to be doing well. Max's was very shut down until the shelter staff placed him with Moose and then they saw Max's come back to life!
We couldn't allow Max's to lose the only friend he has ever had on this earth so we are taking both boys and they will only be adopted as a bonded pair with a contract signed that they will NOT be separated!!
Max's & Moose will have to learn to live in a home, walk on a leash and understand what it is like to be valued and actually LOVED by a human. If you would like to be considered for the boys please fill out an adoption application.
Please understand we do not adopt out dogs to families with children under the age of 5. We do not adopt dogs to renters. Some dogs will have fence requirements while others may not.
A pet is a lifetime commitment. The dogs and cats in our system find themselves there, for the most part, because their humans did not have the same loyalty to them as they did to their owners. We do not take the adoption process lightly, and will do everything in our power to make sure the animal is placed correctly the first time around for your sake and theirs. Thank you for choosing to adopt not shop!
