Little Debbie is a 12 year old dachshund that weighs about 12 pounds. She is spayed, UTD on vaccines, heartworm negative, wormed, and microchipped. She has also had a recent dental cleaning.
Little Debbie would like a quiet retirement home filled with naps, belly rubs, and slow walks around the neighborhood. She would do well as an only dog or with just one or two other dogs in the home. She also is fine with cats. Debbie is housebroken and does not like to be crated. She is cautious with children and prefers they leave her alone.
Little Debbie has a slow resting heart rate. She did have an echogram that revealed no significant structural heart issues. She also has occasional seizures, most likely related to her heart rate. No medications are indicated for either condition. She recently had an abdominal ultrasound, with no significant findings, although she did have some sludge in her gall bladder, which was cleared up with medication. Debbie is on a special diet and an adopter would need to continue that for her.
Little Debbie is slow to adjust to new surroundings and will need a patient human to give her the time and reassurance she needs. That being said, once she knows you, she is fiercely loyal and very affectionate. She will give you the sweetest of smiles. Little Debbie needs a special person to cherish her during her retirement years.
