Hi, I’m Barnabas but my foster mom calls me Barney. Don’t let my lack of vision fool you. I see as well or better than a sighted kitty because I see with my heart which is huge and full of love. I really love to feel your face with my paws and give you kisses. I love to cuddle and spend time with my human, and, if you save me a soft spot on the bed I love to snuggle under the covers with you too. I am also a very playful little guy and love crinkly balls and things that make noise; however, my favorite is my tunnel. I love climbing to the top of the cat tree too! It really scares my foster mom but not me because I am a pretty confident guy. I do well with stairs once shown where I need to go. I am good with other cats and kittens and a cat friendly dog after proper introductions. Although I would do better with a friend it would need to be one that is not very dominant because I am pretty small and very laid back and could easily be bullied. Is there room in your heart and home for me? Because Barnabas is blind, a home visit is required prior to adoption.
Barnabas and his sister (the Dark Shadows kittens) came to Alley Cats and Angels from an independent rescuer in rural NC due to fact that they needed immediate medical attention for their eyes which had ruptured and needed immediate surgery. Barnabas lost both of his eyes. His sister lost one eye.
Fully vetted: tested for FeLV/FIV (negative unless otherwise noted); treated for intestinal parasites, fleas, and ear mites; FVRCP+FeLV vaccinated (initial vaccination and booster); and rabies vaccinated; spayed/neutered; microchipped with Home Again microchips with rescue paid registration.
