My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Lola
Sweet Lola is a super cool kind of dog. We rescued Lola from a high kill shelter along with five other dogs and put her on our Freedom Ride for Life. Lola was found protecting her best mate (who had died) from circling vultures. She was forlorn and desperate without her friend and had no idea how to make her better. Lola is a loyal and sweet girl and we’re glad that we could bring her to the safety of our shelter.
Since arriving on August 28, 2020, Lola has been amazing. She’s thought to be a 1.6 year old Labrador retriever mix. She’s medium size at 53 lbs. She’s a pretty girl with a chocolate and white coat, warm brown eyes that will melt your heart and ears that communicate her every thought. She’s laid back and calm. Lola has been terrific with everyone she’s met. She has a playful side with good energy. She is friendly with other dogs and LOVES playing with her yard mate, Millie. The two girls play hard and have a ball running around chasing each other. Lola also enjoys playing in the water and after happily running around she heads for the kiddie pool to cool off. Lola’s good on a leash and enjoys walking with her people. She is smart and will be easy to train. We have yet to test Lola with cats but will do so for potential adopters.
Lola is going to make for a wonderful fur baby companion. She will love going on adventures with her people whether it’s a hike, a run, to the lake or maybe just riding around in the car keeping company. If you are looking to open your heart and home to your bestie, Lola may be the one for you. She will return your loyalty and love two-fold.

Charles Smithgall Humane Society (CSHS) is a No kill shelter. Animals in our care remain safe with us until adopted. Resident animals are primarily owner relinquished and also accepted from local Animal Control. The facility usually is operating at capacity with a list of animals waiting for space to open.
