Meet Parker! This handsome sweetheart is a perfect all-around dog! Born around August 2019, he is fine-boned and small for the breed. He will likely top out around 82 pounds when he finishes filling out.
Even after being found as a stray, spending time in a shelter, then going to a foster home, Parker remains his happy-go-lucky self. Life is his oyster!
Parker is such an easy dog to have around. He is not demanding of your attention, but he enjoys being petted. Sometimes he looks at you imploringly, as if he’s asking to be in your lap. When lounging indoors, he unabashedly and contentedly rolls onto his back and shows you his lovely belly.
He is always smiling, having fun, and playing. He loves toys, especially the hard ones for chewing. He puts his front paws in the big outdoor water bowl! He sometimes enjoys being alone outside as he listens to birds and watches squirrels.
Parker is like a playtime ambassador! He must have a large, playful doggy companion in his forever home; he would be absolutely miserable as an only dog. He is a good playmate for the other big male and female dogs in his foster home. They wrestle and play chase, running like the wind through the yard!
He loves a good digging party! He will join other dogs as they dig a big crater in the yard. He is still figuring out his doggy manners and sometimes tests other dogs in the house to see who’s boss. He is easily corrected when you tell him he needs to be nice.
He is nice to house cats, barely acknowledging their presence.
Parker is house trained. He hasn’t had much practice on a leash, but should do just fine after a few more walks. He doesn’t bark very much, only sometimes giving a deep bark outside when he hears something suspicious beyond his fence.
He is crate trained, but has no need for one. He will go in one if you want, and he is used to being served his meals in one.
He quite enjoys riding in a car. Even on his first ride from the shelter, he was smiling the whole time, seemingly excited to see what new adventures awaited him. He will stay nicely in a seat belt and lay down.
Parker craves a family that will keep him engaged in their lives and include him in their many adventures.
