My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

What a gorgeous lady! Meet Yara Greyjoy. Like her namesake, she is a brave girl who has survived much tragedy. Yara was found on the street with a horrible neck wound, which is healing nicely. She is a sweet, affectionate girl who needs a great home. She prefers to have a home without other cats. Like her namesake, she prefers to be in charge of her own home.

Yara is a stunning Blue Point Ragdoll mix, a young girl. She would do well in any home, though as stated previously, she prefers a home without other cats. We do not know how she will do with dogs. Children are fine.

If you are interested in adopting Yara, please email us at merlinshoperagdollrescue@gmail.com. She is in a foster home in Ennis, Texas. Her adoption fee is $300.

Sorry, we do not ship our cats or provide any transportation. All potential adopters should reside in Texas, Oklahoma, Arkansas, New Mexico, or Louisiana. We will not adopt outside of those states.

Who We Are: We are a private rescue and privately funded. WE ARE NOT A SHELTER, BUT A RESCUE. A rescue is a PRIVATE HOME and not a public place to visit. Adopters must make appointments prior to visiting foster homes. All of our cats are spayed/neutered, FIV/FELV tested, wormed, de-fleaed, and vaccinated prior to adoption.

Adoption Process: We require all potential adopters to fill out an adoption application prior to setting up an appointment to visit with the cat(s). We conduct veterinary and personal reference checks during the application approval process. If you call or email us, we will provide you with an application via email.

YOUNG CAT COMPANION POLICY: Unless otherwise indicated, all cats under the age of 3 must go into a home with another cat/kitten under the age of three or be adopted with a buddy. Ragdolls and Maine Coons are physically slow to mature, benefit greatly from the social interactions with another cat and often long for the companionship. Obviously, some young adults not raised around other cats or with more independent personalities may be exceptions to those rules, but that is up to the discretion of the Rescue to assess that need and is not negotiable. Special prices are made for buddy adoptions.
