This is the information that we received from Boris's current family:
Boris, our son and daughter-in-law’s dog, bit their toddler about 10 months ago. Prior to that incident, Boris had never shown any aggressive tendencies – ever. Ian had food in his hand, and was passing Boris in a tight space. No one had an actual visual of the incident- they just heard Boris give a quick growl and snap. Boris bit Ian’s jaw, which was snout level for Boris. The bite broke the skin, and was traumatic for everyone. The vet was contacted immediately after the incident, and said the best thing was to keep Boris and Ian in separate rooms. They had never existed in an environment of having Boris secluded; this was not a realistic or fair to Boris. Boris has been temporarily rehomed with our brother-in-law, Danny, while we continued searching for a new home. Danny fosters cats, and has officially adopted two geriatric cats, one of which is unable to jump up on a platform to eat cat food. Boris loves cat food, and Danny cannot keep Boris away from the cat food. Bottom line: Danny is committed to cats over dogs.
Since COVID, I help care for our grandson, Ian, 3 afternoons a week. Our first priority is ensuring a safe environment for our grandchild; thus, we are unable to keep Boris.
