My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.

ADOPTION PENDING MEANS: ALMOND HAS BEEN PLACED IN A NEW HOME.  MATCHING ANIMALS HAS OTHER ANIMALS THERE ARE NUANCES THAT CANNOT BE SEEN RIGHT AWAY.  WE GIVE TIME FOR EVERYONE TO SETTLE IN BEFORE WE MARK THEM AS JUST PLAIN ADOPTED. WE ARE NOT TAKING APPLICATIONS

WE WILL ONLY BE PLACING ALMOND WITHIN A ONE HOUR DRIVE FROM ROCKVILLE MD.

OWNERSHIP EXPERIENCE WITH BULLY BREEDS PREFERRED. ALMOND WILL NOT BE PLACED IN A HOME THAT HAS BREED RESTRICTIONS.

Almond is a TEN YEAR OLD, sweet and gentle, spayed female 40 pound pit bull mix.    She was adopted at the age of 3 months and lived with former owner all 10 years of her life. Her owner passed away.   She is a calm and generally quiet but playful dog she like to play with toys.  She has lived with other dogs and cats. She walks well on a leash.  Has been very happy to meet every dog of every size she sees.   She has exhibited very gentle submissive behavior to children and infants in public.  It has been reported that she has lived with cats.

Almond he has a bit weak bladder.  This has really not become an issue. She to goes out regularly every 4 - 6 hours or so.  She goes right out and pees and runs back in.  She has had 2 accidents here when she had been holding it 10 hours overnight and could not hold it to get out.  She does seem to let us know otherwise, she will go to the "out" door when she needs to go.  Almond is a bit scared in the car.  We are working or that.
