My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Sweet Marigold is a beautiful black Labby mix. She's a long legged, slender and slightly shy girl who loves to bet petted and go for walks. Marigold has had a hard life up until now. She came to us after a good hearted person saw a puppy in the road in a rural county. She stopped to see if she could find an owner. She did and found the rest of the puppies and mom!! Owner wanted all of the puppies gone and we happily obliged. However, one pup was not leaving his mama and boy was the challenge to catch him on. While trying to catch mama's boy I kept noticing mom, now named Marigold, seemed so incredibly sad. She would cower down to the ground. :(
After approaching her and giving her some attention she just gave off this vibe of "please take me, too'. It was pitiful. We asked the owner if we could have mom, too and she said yes. Thank God!!
So mom and her 6 kids loaded up in the car and off we went.
Puppies transferred to another rescue and we kept Marigold because when she went for her first ever vet visit her heartworm test came back positive..no shock there...but she also had a small stick wedged up in the roof of her mouth. When the stick was removed it revealed a dime sized hole had formed from all the friction. Poor Marigold couldn't seem to catch a break.
Surgery for her!!
I can now report that her mouth is healing nicely and she has been treated for her hw's.
Marigold would make for a great new addition to the family. She would prefer other dog siblings that are not wild and rambunctious.
Marigold weighs in the 40;b range, is current on vaccs and spayed.
