My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Duke is a 1 year old lab mix boy- about 40lbs. This boy endured a lot of movement early in life. He found himself at the city shelter, was adopted, and surrendered to us when they had to move. His foster father has worked WONDERS with this boy!

Duke is great in the car and with other dogs. He absolutely loves hiking, running in the park, and being a beach babe! Duke is a bit of an overzealous foodie, but he is working on curbing his enthusiasm. If your sandwich goes missing, don't look at him! (Shh, it was him)

Duke thrives with routine, structure, and attention. While he does not need a set schedule every day, he does need to feel confident in you. Like an adolescent, you give him an inch and he will take a mile. He does well with boundaries in the home. If he knows you are in control, then he will follow your lead- happily! Duke believes in exercise, socializing, and you!

This boy loves interaction and is happy spending time with people or his foster siblings. When meeting new people, Duke is THRILLED to make new friends. At home, Duke does not play with other dogs much; but, he likes to make sure he's near them.

When left home unattended, Duke is happy to lounge in his crate. If out and about, he can be a bit nosey...and you might find him in your refrigerator. However, he is housebroken! He is very smart! Around toys, Duke is respectful and patiently waits for a toy one of the other dogs has.
