My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hi meet Chance

Chance is a Lovely American Bulldog mix who is about 7 years old and is full grown at around 70lbs. Chance loves playing with his humans and toys but is also an amazing snuggler. He is a tad shy around strangers at first but the moment he warms up, he will show you how amazing he really is. He would be best as an only dog in the home as he LOVES to get all the attention. Chance wants a person/family who will provide him with a life of mental and physical stimulation while keeping him safe and happy. He loves to be with his people, so he needs a plan if there are longer workdays, so he is not spending too much time in a crate. He would make a wonderful hiking, running, or walking partner.

Chance came to us after being rescued from the shelter system. The independent fellow rescuer that pulled him and Allie wanted to give them a second opportunity to find their forever homes, but they fell ill and needed help, they reached out to TLF for assistance.

We hold an event every weekend at our facility on SATURDAY and SUNDAY 11-5pm and open to the public. It is first come first serve we do not evaluate applications prior to an event. If there are multiple interested parties in the same dog or puppy at the same time we would pick the best out of the 10 applications. Please visit our social media platforms for the specifics for each weekend as it changes from week to week. Please find our application at lovejoyfoundation.org when you come to an event please bring that filled out in hand with you. You can find our application at Lovejoyfoundation.org. The Lovejoy Foundation, Inc. does not adopt beyond a 30 mile radius from our headquarters in Inglewood. Sometimes exceptions are made in a particular situation for an adopter further out than 30 miles which is at the discretion of the director.

More about this rescue

Director and Founder, Erin Lovejoy has been an animal advocate since she was a child. With a Sales and Marketing background, she was familiar with the techniques that would help launch her vision of The Lovejoy Foundation. The vision was a peaceful outside setting, for a dog and puppy sanctuary; a place for the public to come and play and adopt the puppies and dogs. Erin stands strong behind her belief that through educating the youth, the awareness will impact the future dramatically with the neglected, abandoned and abused animals on the streets and in the shelters. Her goal is no dog is left without a purpose, or without a job, or without a home.

Since April of 2010, Erin has been building her vision, she has rescued, rehabilitated and re-homed more than 8000 dogs to date. Erin strives towards her vision every day, pushing through the trenches of rescue holding adoptions every Saturday and Sunday, rain or shine. She has spent countless hours and resources lending a helping hand to the many owner surrenders, stray dogs, and injured animals, giving them all the support they need. With the incredible dedication of her family, standing by her side day in and day out, keeping with the same passion, Erin, her family, and The Lovejoy Foundation have reduced the intakes in the local shelters dramatically.

Erin's motto is "Touching lives one animal at a time" Hopefully, it will not be long before her vision will unfold to what she has been living and creating every day.
