Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Say hey to lil miss oreo aka lil miss piglet! This cutie has had one heck of traveling story that's for sure! She hails from Puerto Rico & is currently in one of our rescue friend's boarding facility as we are either searching for a foster family, a foster to adopt family or adopting family. We just really want to get her into a quiet home environment where she can decompress for at least a month since she will be coming out of a boarding facility. Oreo aka Piglet is not so fond of female dogs (she is wait listed at Nutmeg Spay & Neuter for a spay appointment) & we aren't quite sure about males either so that's why we are asking for a no dog home. Oreo was found in a dump site scavenging for food by her rescuers in Puerto Rico so we don't know a whole lot about her beginnings of life - she's maybe about 18 months right now or a little bit more. She focuses heavily on cats & small prey so we are saying no cats or other small animals as well. She is a smaller bully mix girl about 35lbs right now. Oreo is loving & cuddley on her terms & she craves human interaction. She will need someone with a hands off approach to dog care so she can be just herself. She doesn't like to be handled on her belly at all & she is ok with crating, but it should be used as a safe place & not a place for punishment. She is still housetraining so potential families must be patient with her because she's still got a lot of how she used to live in her. She just needs patience & time with a family that can be gentle & use positive reinforcement. She has shown that she is not so fond of older men & while she has been around men in her boarding facility, they are younger & extremely dog savvy. Here is a Facebook video link of Oreo when she first arrived to us off of transport:
