My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Farley is approximately 8 month male P&S giant schnauzer. A happy, energetic puppy at 55 pounds, he has very good house manners (meaning he has chewed only one pair of shoes when his foster mom let her guard down). It's important to consider: puppy, 55 pounds, and energy. He eats 5 cups of high quality kibble a day and will do so until he is 24 months old. It is estimated that as a full-grown dog, he will be between 80-90 pounds. Farley loves his pack mates, adores being cuddled and being the center of attention. He has shown no signs of aggression. The foster home has no children or cats. Farley is crate trained and housebroken. Giant Schnauzers, like most large breeds, do not reach maturity until 24 months so it's important to remember some puppy behaviors will be around a long time. BSRO strongly recommends a positive behaviors puppy training class for all families adopting puppies. Giant Schnauzers are working dogs with lots of energy that remains in adulthood. This is not a couch potato. He will need to be active, and might like a job (or activity). It is helpful to remember that giant schnauzers are problem solving dogs. They will solve problems, even if you don't know you have a problem. Stimulation, physical and mental, will be important.
