My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Sissy! She's a hound mix weighing in at about 37# and is approximately 4 years old.

Sissy's favorite 2 things in life are food & cuddles! We are unsure if Sissy has ever been in a home prior to being rescued. It took awhile for her to be comfortable in a home, but now she loves it!

Like most rescue dogs, Sissy has some quirks that she'll need a little help working through. She sometimes looks for exits or tries to hide in small places. These are all behaviors that helped her survive prior to rescue and she needs to be reminded that she's safe now and no longer needs to do those things. Sissy's love for food makes her easily trainable, but can also trick her into some counter surfing. She stops with a quick verbal interrupter. Where there's a will, there's a way, and when it come to food, Sissy has the will!! Sissy sleeps soundly and rests comfortably in her crate. She likes to snuggle up in a big comforter in there.

Sissy gets along great with the resident dogs ranging in size from 20 to 90#. Sissy thinks cats are fun to chase, so would do best in a home without them.
She's loved ALL the people she's met! Kids, adults, male, female; she's a social butterfly!

Sissy was treated for heartworm and had to he calm and innactive durring her recovery. She is feeling SO much better now and is ready for action! She'd love a backyard to frolic in, someone to take her on walks and play with her, and then some nice cuddles on the couch or bed at the end of a long day!

Please note that the breeds and sizes posted in this biography are educated best guesses and are not guaranteed.

Please consider becoming a foster home while you search for your new best friend. We need foster homes - pounds are overflowing with puppies and adult dogs that are at-risk and need help. We can only rescue as many as we have foster home commitments. Fostering is a rewarding experience for your family.
