My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

If you are interested in LOUIE or in adopting a pup in general, the first step is an adoption application. Download an adoption application here
Please email the completed application to megan.woofriver@gmail.com
Please submit an application rather than an inquiry with no application attached.

How stinking cute is LOUIE?! LOUIE is an amazing, friendly, and curious little fellow. He loves going on walks and happily greets all the new people he meets along the way. He adores other dogs and makes friends wherever he goes. He is a big fan of toys and games and yet he is very respectful of dogs who aren’t into playing as much. Regardless of what he is doing, he cherishes his time spent with other pups and would be happiest in a home with at least one other canine companion. Some of his favorite pastimes include playing fetch, taking long walks and snuggling with his foster mom. He also enjoys good naps, car rides and visits to new places. LOUIE is both house trained and crate trained. He is a smart boy, who is so happy to please his people, that training with him would be a blast. LOUIE would be delighted to learn whatever you would want to teach him. If you are looking for a sweet, adorable gentleman, LOUIE is just the one to melt your heart and complete your family.

LOUIE is neutered, microchipped, and up to date on all vaccinations including 2 rounds of both the H3N2 and H3N8 canine influenza vaccinations.
His local adoption fee is $290

All of our dogs start their journey in Memphis, Tennessee where they remain in loving foster families until they are adopted. Once adopted, some pups stay local in Memphis. Many others travel via one of our transport partners to their new forever homes. We use Pet Express Transport (https://petexpresstupelo.wordpress.com) for our Nashville, Knoxville and New England adoptions. For our Midwest adopters, we have our own private transport.

Breed selection is done in conjunction with two local vets and is not to be considered a guarantee but rather a well-educated decision from well qualified staff.

Due to the extremely high volume of inquiries we receive, we ask that you request, complete, and submit an application before asking additional questions. We try very hard to include all pertinent information in our bios. We are excited to help you find your new family member. However, Woof River is 100% volunteer operated. We want to spend our time saving dogs and assisting those adopters who have taken the time to complete an application. Thank you for understanding.
